Since 2015, we have awarded 43 scholarships totaling $109,000. Stumptown Scholars typically graduate from college within 4 years and go onto a variety of careers and/or graduate schools.

Here is a look at the college students we are currently supporting:

Anika Schram $10,000 Scholarship
McDaniel High Class of 2024 Oregon State University Class of 2028

“Instead of ending up with crippling student debt, I will be able to focus on my education and future. This scholarship not only helps my family pay for college, it shows me there are countless generous people out there who have my back. I feel optimistic for my future knowing that other people believe in me and my goals.”

Roosevelt High Class of 2024 Portland State University Class of 2028

This scholarship will benefit not only me but also my parents. Because of this scholarship they don’t have to worry too much about paying for my college. Plus, they have my 5 younger siblings to look out for. This scholarship takes a big weight off their shoulders.

“My parents came to America as refugees. Because they lacked both money and English proficiency, they were not able to open a college savings account for me. I will be taking out loans and working to pay for college. This scholarship makes a huge difference for my family as I pursue my goal of becoming a mechanical engineer.”

“This scholarship was a crucial factor to my academic success at the University of Oregon! The Stumptown Scholarship provided me with a brand new MacBook that allowed me to attend online classes and I still make use of it today! This scholarship helps take the load off my tuition fees every year meaning less hours spent working and more hours spent focusing on my academics”.

We measure our success in many ways. By tracking our scholars, we have found that virtually all graduate college within 4 years.
